So this was an unexpected surprise for me. I wasn’t 100% on buying this one and honestly was going to wait a few months before buying it. However!! I kept hearing mixed things about it so I wanted to make my own opinion..and here…we…go!

So Re 8 OR Village as it’s called.. Takes place a few years after RE 7 and it is for the most part a sequel to RE 7. You play as Ethan Winters “RE 7” once again and you’re trying to find you’re daughter. Not going to spoil anything with the story BUT I find it funny that this poor man keeps putting himself into these situations where he has NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON!?

The game is beautiful in both terms of graphics and sound. It has a very cool story that directs you the entire game. Some interesting puzzles and monsters. The one thing I have to give Capcom so much credit for is Originality with this part of the series. The places you go to have a good mix of RE 1 and something new. People said we would see werewolves but they really seem like hairy hobos on steroids to me. Some of the designs look like characters from Bloodborne which isn’t a bad thing.. but yea.. odd..

This game is also very much in terms of the series an action game. Yes it has horror elements to it but compared to RE 7. Lots of pick up of inventory items like keeping track of Ammo, Herbs, and Key Puzzle Items. It made me happy to see the search and remember locations return for this game. Honestly it felt like a big return to RE 1 in that respect. Having to find a key and remember which doors to open. I liked it!

This week it was announced DLC is being worked on. I think it’s fun for the price I paid for it. Could I have waited? Sure.. But It was a fun experience and a good addition to the series. By the end of the game you will understand why it’s a RESIDENT EVIL game… check it out if you got the money it’s worth it..

I have no clue how I managed to forget to write this review. This game came out in 2016 and is without question one of my favorite PS4 games to be released on the system. Anyway.. here.. we…go!

Watch Dogs 2 is set several years after Watch Dogs 1 and follows instead of Aiden Pearce a New collective group part of DedSec set to correct justice in San Francisco this time around. Instead of working with only 2 other people on your side you have a larger Younger Group of Characters to help you. It’s in this respect the game shines because the drive this time around isn’t Vengeance but Hacker Justice and a crew trying to set right the issues played out by the corporations involved.

The main character you play as is Marcus Holloway. One of the things that you will notice this time around is how nibble the character is. Using pretty much the same mechanics as before but with an added advantage to use Parkour and better hand to hand combat. The game sets up lots of missions to hack into buildings and solve puzzles as the story progresses. This time around you are also given a cool 3D Printer which allows you to upgrade, Customize and create new items that will help you get in and out of each mission. Your granted a Drone, Spider Drone, Robots and while it does use the same Blue Line Hack puzzles it’s far friendlier this time around and not used as often.

While watch dogs 1 had a interesting online component of invasions. This time around you have a coop element also. Finishing missions with other players is super fun and can also be tedious at times while working with other players. It’s all optional this time and you don’t need to do any of it to progress the story but in terms of fun it’s on another level.

I can’t explain how much time I spent playing watch dogs 2 but it was ALOT. The game is clearly much cheaper than what I paid for it on release now 4 years later… almost 5… Honestly this is probably one of my top 5 games on the PS4. It’s fun.. great story driven action and worth every penny.

Took me much longer than I expected to Finally FINISH THIS free DLC for Resident Evil 7. This will contain some Spoilers if you haven’t played RE 7. So yea.. here..we…go

So this DLC takes place directly after the Main story. You play as Chris Redfield “Yes Chris from RE 1,CV,5, and 6” who is chasing after Lucas Baker while unraveling more of the details and connections for this chapter in the Resident Evil Series. This DLC plays very different from the actual game in that it’s more ACTION rather than horror.

The DLC while Free doesn’t prove much in terms of NEW content. While you have more weapons and ammunition this time around but the monsters remain the same as those you encountered during the main game. The areas you explore are slightly different but for the most part are caves that you didn’t explore in the main story.

It’s mostly puzzle solving and key hunting. Not very long… at all..which for free content “NOT SURPRISED!”.. Either way .. it’s fun.. and a interesting part added.

So while I said I wasn’t buying any new games this year.. My girlfriend went and gifted me this horror thriller in all it’s glory. So here’s what I have to say about it…and here..we…go

screen1

To begin with any game that has Crabs… or promotes crabs.. or Lobsters.. IS GOING TO BE SCARY!! …or so I thought.. This Remake of the 1999 Classic Resident Evil 3 is actually not as bad as people say but not as good as I thought it would be. While people complain currently about the level of replay and shortness of the game I think it goes without saying you are only playing ONE character.. Not two as in Previous titles like Resident Evil 1 and 2 or any of the later games. Jill is the star this time around and while it takes very little from it’s horror elements of the previous Remake “RE 2” it fills it with action….again..

It’s a beautiful game to play and while it’s mechanics are pretty much exactly what was given with RE 2 Remake. It adds to it elements that work and some that almost NEVER work. Jill this time around is given the ability to mix products such as ammunition, and herbs this time, which is an interesting element added from the original and really brings nothing new to this remake “if you knew how to do it in RE 3.. YOU KNOW how to do it in RE 3 Remake”. I WISH I could say that about the dodging mechanic or even any of the button mashing elements that happen during the zombie attacks.  Both are poorly placed and mechanics that I guess a person could learn to master but why? It doesn’t help for much and isn’t nearly as helpful as the original game.

screen2

It does sprinkle some musical elements from the classic game which is awesome but while running around Raccoon City most of what you will run into is more of the same from the RE 2 Remake… SOME New monsters are in it which is cool and dealing with Nemesis is about the same as it ever was.. ANNOYING AND FUN!! I never really felt any elements of dread.  Even while the chaos was going on it just didn’t feel like it took the time to tell the why!!?

I can say that 60 bucks is for sure.. A HIGH PRICE to pay for this game. I would wait till it gets cheaper because it’s not worth the price.. HOWEVER.. It is a great experience of game and really it didn’t have anything bad about it. Just not as big a impact as RE 2 Remake.. again.. it’s a beautiful game and I loved playing it .. but in the end felt .. more could have been done and elements should have been better implemented.

After months and months and months of me telling my girlfriend I would get to Undertale.. WE FINALLY DID IT… and all it really took was for me to buy it on the Nintendo Switch.. to do it… SO HERE WE GO!!!

lady.0

To start with HAVE AN OPEN MIND…cause to say this game is an experience is an…UNDER….STATEMENT… HAHAHAHAHAHAH…. ok … ummm

You play as a little boy?…..little girl…… ummm…little person.. “That works!” who falls down a hole into a world of Monsters. You encounter lots of different creatures, monsters, both cute and scary looking.  One of the most interesting things about the game is how it’s played. It has sort of a turn base thing that gives you the options for Fight, Act,Items, and Mercy. It forces you to interact with your actions by moving your heart piece in a box while things try to attack it.  Personally I think I sound crazy describing that but that’s exactly how it works.

Switch_Undertale_screen_02.0

Lots of text fills this game and personality is a quality I have learned it builds very well. It’s a unique story to tell and often I found myself saying….”what?…what happened?” The music and graphics are probably some of the best I have heard in awhile with this type of retro style. It was a good mix of horror at some points.. and some action rpg…You will gather items and build the character as you would in most RPGs.  Like I started with it was a experience.

From my understanding of this game it has several endings..and depending on how you choose to play it can change the game dramatically.. I went with the pacifist route…  Meaning I didn’t kill anyone the entire game… Which was hard.. but not impossible. I might go with the more aggressive route in the future but … who knows…

Was it worth the money to buy it off the Switch Shop…YES!! If you are looking for a adventure game that is over all easy to play and unique… GO FOR IT!

So before I Just jump into this I want to give some links to some past stuff I have written about this series.

TWO PARTS ABOUT MY LOVE FOR RESIDENT EVIL < Click for part one!

PART TWO! <Click for part two!

So YES..ON WITH THIS!

So clearly I have a love for this series. HOWEVER I have no love for buying games that I already own with little to no difference between the original on sale item. Which means I really didn’t see the point in buying this version of the game short because I already owned it on the “Gamecube” with most of the rest of the series “0 – 4”.

So why did I buy it? Well truth be told it kept coming up in conversation. The conversations would go pretty close to this…

Someone: So hey did you play the resident evil HD remake?

ME:I played the game on Gamecube and don’t see the point in buying it again now.

Someone: Well you know they are releasing 0 next year in HD also.

ME: yea…I have seen the previous…

Someone: I heard if the sales of both those games do well they will work on a HD Remake of 2!

ME:…DAMN IT…

So over all this conversation was repeated enough times that I figured WHY THE HELL NOT. I know it’s a great game and really I keep hearing it’s a good HD version port of the game so …why …not?

Well alright.. I Downloaded the game from the psn which to my surprise it cost me less then 20$. Which helped it’s sale on me also because for that price I can understand spending the money for updated graphics and perhaps a revival of a experience I already knew I was getting myself into.  Now keep in mind my love for this particular game was pretty high. It was my first Gamecube game I owned and I played every mood it had to offer in the original GC version. This time I would come to understand that the settings of the game would come as a surprise. This version would have 3 settings as opposed to the original 2 settings of difficulty. Naturally I played the 3rd most difficult setting.

Me being a natural to this series my first play through it I picked Jill between the two characters “Jill and Chris”.  I came to find that the videos in the game I can assume nothing could be done to fix them so they still remain the same as the previous GC version. However the moment you enter the mansion EVERYTHING is Crystal clear and this is really what you are paying for. Better sound quality, and a better visual experience. Now I say better with a lose tongue because one of the things I enjoyed about the Original was the mystery that came with the game.

While it maintains the same story and everything that comes with the original experience something that I think was over looked was the fact that what you interact with  “items, ammo and so on” was supposed to be something you went looking for. Cause it’s remake nature and clarity built into the backgrounds most of the stuff that you are looking for is BRIGHT and CLEAR TO FIND. It takes away the question of what am I supposed to be looking for because everything you are looking for IS BRIGHT AND STICKS OUT ON SCREEN..

Resident Evil®_20150716141545

Resident Evil®_20150716141545

If the room was meant to hide a item you can see it clearly because chances are it’s brightly light and clearer then the background hiding it. Not really a big deal but if this was my first time playing the game I would lose that experience of …what am I supposed to be searching for? OH well the BRIGHTLY LIGHT AMMO BOX ON THE FLOOR COULD HELP! That sort of disappointed me but was really the only thing that brought the experience a bit down.

Resident Evil®_20150716175314

Resident Evil®_20150716175314

Short of that I found myself constantly say ..HEY I NEVER NOTICED THAT! This I think was the result of the HD experience. From paintings on the wall to the writing on some of the items it was all a real treat to see how high the details have become. It was clear from start to finish that Capcom put a great deal of love into making it a experience that old fans “like myself” would enjoy and want to relive.

So am I a fan of this version of the game? YES.. Do I think it was worth the 20$  price? For what I managed to get from it YES! Honestly coming from a fan of the series and someone who really enjoyed this particular game I can’t see any reason why anyone who loved the one for Gamecube wouldn’t want to relive this game and enjoy another run past it.

It does come with some extra treats in terms of content also so …why not help and support! WITH THE HELP AND SUPPORT MAYBE CAPCOM WILL FINALLY MAKE A RESIDENT EVIL 2 REMAKE HD!!

Batman-Arkham-Origins-Initiation-DLC-Concept-Art-shows-Bruce-Wayne-in-Asia

Normally I would wait till I finished the DLC to write about it. However considering I made it all the way to the end of this one..but didn’t finish the very very very last part of it “DAMN 5 RETRY LIMIT!!”. I figure why not write about what I know and YES I WILL FINISH THIS TODAY!!

So this DLC for Batman Arkham Origins dives into the past for Bruce Wayne “BATMAN DUH!”. It is based around his training as a younger man trying to learn to fight. Clearly entering this part of his life he has an idea on how to be Batman but discovers that with training from this North Korea band of Ninjas he can learn more about himself.

Now nothing about this DLC is EASY. Honestly it’s ruff and REALLY HARD to get past but so gratifying that I can’t even put it into words. Playing the DLC doesn’t change much about the controls. Some of it even takes away elements to challenge you more but it’s really really ruff!! Over all the price is cheap.. it’s very well designed and FUN! Honestly … I wish it had more too it but for the price YOU CAN NOT COMPLAIN!

I must have watched it at least 100x already.. I CAN’T WAIT!!!

skylanderswapforce

Skylanders Swap Force was the first game I received on my Wiiu because it came with the system. That was the bundle I purchased because I had played and finished Skylanders and Skylanders Giants. It even became a sort of ritual for me and my girlfriend to play and finish each of these games in December. Last month was really busy with work and what not.. so We managed to pull this game off yesterday in the span of 13 hours. WAS IT WORTH IT? LET’S FIND OUT!

skylanders_collection_and_something_doesn_t_belong_by_kainless-d8cz5di

To begin with like the previous games you “the player” are expected to expand your collection of figures to get further in the game. While the plays you had for the previous games work on this one.. they added the Swap Force Characters in this iteration. Meaning only if you have Swap Force characters can you get to particular BONUS parts of the game. Really they don’t effect the games main line but they do add to the hours upon hours of game play that this game has. Really the foundation that was built on skylanders 1 and 2 keep and stay faithful in this version of the game. Your still given elements to open portals to get you items that upgrade your armor health and so on. Each stage follows suit and really if you played the other two you already know how to play this one so really nothing new is to be learned short the mechanics of new characters and of course following the story line which is probably the best I have seen so far.

portalsf

This game I should also add does come with a “required” new portal. I am guessing it had to be upgraded to provide a platform for the new Swap Force team. This team is comprised of only a few new characters but they can interchange to make different characters. So if you have two swap force characters you can mix them to make 4 new characters. It’s all easily done and pretty fun to do but it isn’t REQUIRED. Just another fun part of playing the game and a new aspect to dive into.

screenskylanderssf

The game itself is beautiful. This being the third in the series the graphics you can tell have been slightly upgraded. Sound is epic and really the story is driving to get you from place to place. You will find a great innocent humor in the series that continues to charm the hell out of players who enjoy it. I can see why it has become so popular considering it’s really just a ton of fun to play and with each game in the series you want to learn more about the universe it’s building. It’s fun and simple to say the least. Sort of like Gaunlet “of my day” and over all a good game to play with really ANYONE. This particular game however I will say is the LONGEST in the series so far. With Trap Team already in my hands I expect it to be longer than Swap force which really took us a matter of 13 hours STRAIGHT.. to finish.. This is more than enough time to play any video game but yea.. the amount of content involved in the game is just OVERWHELMING and without question is worth every penny spent! For whatever the price if you are looking for a game to play with anyone .. I HIGHLY Suggest playing anyone of the skylander games!

Bayonetta-Image-pic

So I downloaded Day 1 Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 on the Wiiu E-shop. It’s taken me this long to finish both games. More so it’s taken me this long to finish Bayonetta 1! Bayonetta 2 it took me all of 7 hours from start to finish which I managed to do today! So let’s start with the first one!

wii-u-bayonetta

I should note that I did own the ps3 version of this game. I never finished it but my girlfriend did. It took me a long time to find the time and build up the will power to play and finish this game. Which is sort of odd because I finished DMC before I finished this game and that game came out after it. Regardless of all that! Once my ps3 broke down AND I found out the Wiiu was getting the sequel exclusive. It was enough for me to trade my ps3 version of the game in for a little money and Repurchase the game with the sequel for just under 60 bucks. WHICH IS GREAT!

Bayonetta-2

So as I said the game play is very action based. However it also plays similar to a fighting game in that timing and maneuvering is very important to getting past enemies. Now I played this one on normal difficulty and found it to be EXTREMELY Hard to play. Yet this wasn’t a bad thing, it added to the challenge and made it rather entertaining to say the least. I can’t tell you the number of times I died but after a bit of planning and using my items correctly I learned how to make it all work. It’s one of those games that you really do need to practice at and take time to learn. Now with that said I am sure you could play it on easy mode and probably run past most of the game no problems. YET I didn’t know that when I started and well.. yea…it took me awhile to finish it but it was worth it.

It’s full of interesting characters, good story telling and it really is very fast paced and ACTION PACKED. You will not find much time to sit around..However I will say towards the end it kinda feels like it dragged on a bit.. but it wasn’t to bad. Regardless it’s a fun game and worth picking up for the price it’s being sold. I am sure you can pick it up for cheaper on the xbox and ps3 but you won’t get the best version of the game as those two versions are SERIOUSLY FLAWED with menu delays and graphic problems. This version is beautiful, sounds great, and holds little to no bugs in it.

bayonetta-2-logo

So having spent so much time playing Bayonetta 1 and having issues on Normal Difficulty I figured…ok this time..EASY mode or in this case “Climax 1 2 or 3” I figured 1 would be the best way to go as it took me forever to finish on 2 for the first game. However what I didn’t know is that the game would be EXTREMELY EASY having chosen 1. So really I should have started 2 and it probably would have been a more challenging experience. Yet none the less the game was fair to me and I managed to finish it in 7 hours. ….today

Bayonetta-2-Screenshot-07

The game pretty much picks up right from the end of 1. Give or take a months have passed and things ramp up pretty quickly to begin the game. Over all the mechanics of the game are the same in both games. So if you had no trouble with 1 you will have no trouble with 2. The monsters in this one are however EASIER TO DEAL WITH.. So again.. Don’t expect the game to be as difficult as the first one.

Bayonetta version 2

Again the game has a fun cast “most of which from the first one” and it goes on to explain more of the story. It offers lots of new elements but keeps the stuff that worked in the first one so really it’s a comfortable game IF you learned the first one from head to tow.

The series is a ton of fun to play, it has a cool story that makes sense once you finish BOTH games. The monsters and puzzles take a little time to learn but once you manage it both games are really worth the experience. I enjoyed the games very much and think for the price and bundle they are giving it at for the wiiu right now.. WOULD BE WORTH YOUR MONEY!
