This was one of those games I backed on Kickstarter a long time ago that had some serious promise to tell a good horror story and introduce some interesting mechanics to a new game series. It’s a sidescroller that tells a fun detective story. Overall a simple to play game not requiring much in the way of fast pace button mashing. A chill and thoughtful game that puts you into a Future filled with interesting characters and a story that makes you think about the world it’s introducing to you.

The bases of the game is to search for clues to progress the story. Action and horror wise it holds a silent creepy something is around the corner stalking you vibe to it. Personally I LOVE that feel. It’s very puzzle heavy in that you will be put into places that require you to remember places for items you check thru out the game. Take notes! Read logs and really it homes in on your ability to be a true detective.

Some of the puzzles are rather hard and a couple of em I found myself saying “DUH! Why didn’t I think of that!!”..which is exactly what you want out of game like this. It’s fun!

In terms of content I am pleased with it. It turned the gears in my head I wanted it too and really I hope we get more of this series in the future as it has a cool world to explore and a very interesting story to tell!

So this is probably going to be a long review because I am a big fan of the series in General. I have seen every Film, Played every Game, Owned a number of toys and even read a number of Comics based on this series. So yea… Here….we…GO!

If you are a fan of the first two films and have watched them both at least 1000 times each PLAY THIS GAME. While it’s an Open World, First person Shooter, Frogger “Like”, With a mix of Survival Horror and Decision Interactions in it game.  I must say the amount of love and detail for this game is undeniable.  TEYON Games which is a Polish Game Company have done the best Terminator Game I have ever played.

Starting off Before the first Two Films “And yes it’s Cannon”. You play as  Jacobs Rivers a resistance fighter against the Machines/Skynet in the year 2028. Like I said early it’s for the most part a First person shooter with Survival Horror Elements taking much of the feel from the first Two films vision of a Apocalyptic Earth Ruled being taken over by Machines. The game starts out as a very Run and Hide type of game but it Happily sprinkled with Actions Sequences and Frogger Puzzle elements. It has a Development Tree for your character to work on as you progress thru the game and the Weapons you choose from are a mix of Old School Guns mixed with Future.

While I am sure some people can easily finish the game in probably under 5 hours the game encourages exploration. Most of the charm it holds comes from knowing the series and it sprinkles lots of Easter Eggs that caused me personally to be like “HEY I REMEMBER THAT!!”

It has a crafting system in it that is actually really giving also considering at no time during the game did I have an issue with collecting Ammunition, Health Items or Lock Picks to open doors. The only real issue I had was trying to figure out some of the controls as it isn’t very good at explaining that HOWEVER if you have ever played games like Condemned or really any First person Shooter it can go without saying that you can figure it out fairly Quickly.

I am sure it has multiple endings which at this point I have only seen one but am Eager to jump back in and see what my decisions can change. While I had this game Pre-Ordered for the Price of about 60$ bucks. I personally think it was worth it just because I am a huge fan of the series. However.. I have seen it go now for about 30$ to 40$ and honestly for that price I feel anyone who is a fan of the series is getting there monies worth. Hell I have seen games with developers Much bigger DO FAR WORSE GAMES and really I had no Issues with sounds “AMAZING” OR Graphics “Pretty great Consider it’s a small company developing it”… So yea.. I would say it’s a MUST BUY for Terminator Fans…and a really really Great time for people who are just looking to Jump into that Future fight against the Machines type people.

I have been for as long as I have been a gamer a fan of Tetris. I played it with my sister on the Commodore 64. Still play it with her to this day every now and again. I have challenged MANY an epic people online. Hell my digital wife would kill me if I didn’t say she was a great player “HI HANNAH!” of the series. So yes it roots itself pretty deep into my life.

So when I heard that a NEW Tetris Game was coming out it was a natural buy…and I am not disappointed at all! This is without question more of an experience than an actual video game. You need to play it LOUD, on a big screen in HD and Really dive into it.

It’s back to basic with this game. You have your simple mechanics of move the brick, flip, and Hold ONE Brick. The Tetris Effect button allows a meter to fill up and stop the movement of the game. Which is cool and simple to add to the game. It’s really very basic in terms of what a Tetris game should be.

The biggest Highlight of the game is the visuals and sound. It’s a beautiful game and it sounds perfect. Designed to be more of a puzzle experience it becomes emotional diving into it. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM I have with the game is that it’s 40$ and it isn’t a long game. I am hoping that the 40$ price point will come with future DLC to expand the game. I am working on expert level now and it’s super challenging but Normal was a bit less than I thought it would be “I finished it without dying once on Normal”.

It doesn’t have two players BUT it does have a leader board which is epic to try to get to the TOP. So trying to beat your friends scores or other players around the world is always a fun priority for the game in terms of REPLAY.

To me it’s a new addiction and I love it for everything that it is!

Jumped into another MMO “Said I wouldn’t …but”… This was worth it!

I was having a big craving for some good horror. Honestly so many games today titled “horror” are mostly jump scares and crappy stories. I wanted to find something that would catch my interest. I had seen “The Secret World” about for awhile.. just didn’t know what to think of it and honestly I HATE MMO’S at this point..but this game.. WOW Did it catch my interest…

So you start the game out with the same old same old. Pc download of the game which cost about 30 bucks. The good thing is that NO SUBSCRIPTION. You pay for the game 30 bucks and that’s pretty much all you need after that. The game does have some episodes after the main game but honestly paying the 30 bucks will cause you to play more then 200 hours of game play. It’s an MMO so really figuring out what missions to go on is really up to you and the worlds are MASSIVE..”hence MMO”..

The start of the game has you choose between one of three Factions “Illuminati (From New York), Templar (From London), and the Dragon (From Korea). Each Faction has a back-story and in that back-story you will develop your characters back-story. You create an agent and work your way in and out of Modern day Myths, Legends, and stories. This part is what really drives the game. You set out on your missions to go after Zombies, Vampires, Ghost, Monsters, and all sorts of different horror elements.

Alexander “Kainless”Gonzalez…hehe that’s me!

Now while the game plays out like most MMOs having to click and point and set number buttons for actions. It has a very diverse game-play element to it.  Action, Puzzle, Mystery, Searching Horror elements, and character building is just part of what builds the game. I honestly haven’t played a game that makes so many elements mix and mix well not left field at all. To explain it best it’s like watching the X-files mixed with World of Warcraft elements. It all takes place in real time so most of the people you meet are real people. With that the community is very NICE.. and well monitored unlike most MMOs. It becomes a group of support and fun!

I can go on about this game but really I think I will wait and make this more of an episode write about.. So much has happened already and I only just started..

So here we are again with another Resident Evil…and MY FIRST 3DS Game… honestly so many good things to say about this game..but yea..let’s get started

To begin with it’s a 3ds Version of a third person shooter.. Which due to technical reasons ” No second Control Stick” some of the game play had to be altered slightly. Alter yes…and GOOD… for the most part.. Normally when you play a third person shooter your given the option to hold the gun with one button held and aim it with the second control stick.. this time when you hold the gun it goes into a first person shooter sort of view and your then moving the gun around kinda like DOOM 3…  and of course you use another button to fire.. Really this works very well for the 3DS .. but really for me it did feel kinda slow at some points..but none the less was never really an issue for the game play..

Another thing I should add about game play is that this game does EVERYTHING correct with your Resident Evil style of game play.. your given quick touch screen controls to switch between weapons, you press one button to heal yourself.. “No Mixing of different Herbs this time around Green is all you get and no first aid sprays.. one green and your set to full health”.. Which I should also add.. you will not have to worry about your health going from one green wavy line color to yellow then red… NO NO no.. This time around when your hurt the top bottom and left and right side of the screen gets bloody… the worse you get.. the more bloody it gets.. I believe you have up to four different frames..of this… WHICH the time your on your last wave…. You can barely see the screen..cause its so covered in blood… which can be a good thing or a bad thing…depending on the situation…

Another thing I should add is that the game does add another Element which is actually done pretty well for this game…SWIMMING.. yeap.. you heard that right… you actually have to swim in some parts of the game..  which will have you tap a button to swim faster..and another to surface… no I should note I say this was done well..because I never died in the water.. “no pun intended”.. any of the parts that had you swim rarely had enemies involved in it and if it did have enemies..they had been placed in spots that had been easy enough for me not to deal with them..  So yea.. swimming isn’t the issue..  Your also given a map which pretty much tells you exactly where to go “RE4,RE5 AND RE 6..” Only because it’s a 3ds you can pretty much look at the map the entire time..and have no trouble finding your way..

Now another good thing about the game which I honestly thought was pretty Ingenious was that because it’s a handheld game..and god knows when you will pick it up and play it.. Right before playing the game and at the start of each chapter “Yes the game is broken down into different Chapters” you are given a small video review of each event that took place before you left the game… kinda makes it sound like a TV Show or something “Last time on Resident Evil Revelations..(and yes it says that)” so really your given a brief review of what has happened last time you played..  which for me i forget so many things…if i don’t play game all the way thru or am playing more then game at a I was…that this seemed pretty cool and helpful actually..

So story wise… Well you guys know me I don’t do spoilers.. and I am not a fan of giving anything away.. BUT.. I will say this game focuses on the events BETWEEN RE 4 AND RE 5.. You play as RETURNING Character Jill…amongst others.. which I will not Name… It has some New line up characters in the mix also..Some are done well… SOME ARE ANNOYING AS FU@# ALL.. and really the story to this game is a big confusing actually…. but nothing that doesn’t make sense by the end of the game… HOWEVER..IT DOES GET REALLY REALLY confusing and less interesting at some points… it does seem to drag….. a bit… but yea.. To my Surprise this game really did hold a VERY VERY REAL Resident EVIL 1 Feel to it.. lots of Isolation, dread, and places to search..

To be quite honest… the game is probably one of the better Resident Evil games I have played in a long …long …long time… It sort of felt like a good combination of Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 4 actually..  You will not be fighting Zombies this time around thou…but you will fight creatures that look similar to one’s from Silent Hill rather then anything from RE… which is actually pretty cool if you ask me..

It does hold a very good Survival Horror Feel to it…and this is actually the First Resident Evil game I have played since 2 that has done a good job of this… If the series goes in this direction I think It honestly can be saved without a REBOOT… the atmosphere and the game play worked perfect… and I had no real Issue with this game…

I SHOULD ALSO NOTE NOT TO BE FOOLED BY THE SMALL 3DS cartridge .. You are getting a FULL 3 TO 4 HOURS worth of game play with this game… So don’t expect it to be a short game… the damned thing is probably about as long as Resident Evil 2 playing both Scenarios..  So yea.. expect to be at it for at least a good 6 hours your first go.. and if you want to find everything probably lengthen that time..

Over all.. I AM VERY Pleased with this game.. and if I had to put it in an order of how I loved this would probably be my 3rd favorite in the series.. 1 on the gamecube being my 2nd and 2 for the N64.BEING MY NUMBER 1…

So while I know it’s being ported to the ps3 and xbox 360.. Honestly I think I will pass.. Everything I got from the game I think I got on my 3ds… and really I can’t imagine them changing much for those ports of the game.. maybe the graphics will be better..and they will probably make it a third person shooter without the First person aiming thing… I would imagine the menu will probably change because of no second screen..and they will probably remove the small touch screen puzzles “like the wall pannels and so on…” but really.. in terms of Resident Evil games… I will say IF YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON IT..PLAY IT.. NO MATTER WHAT PORT you play it on… I can’t think of how they can fu@# this up on a console it should be good regardless… but yea.. not much more I can think of for them to add to it..

Either way great game!
